The Spaniards
usually begin afternoon with a walk, a slow ride down
through the main streets. A coffee terrace is an excellent
position to observe this tradition, enjoying the street
theatre. The atmosphere is specially vibrant at celebration
times or when the local soccer team has won, resulting
in a cacophony of horns, firecrackers and a sea of team
flags.
The tapas bars offer those delicious mouthfuls in a relaxed
and pleasant disposition and is tradition to travel by
several bars in one night. The Ibiza Barcelona and Madrid
discotheques have attracted the attention of the international
media but the variety of supplies is for all types of
pleasures. The diversion extends until late night -known
as la marcha- and once the sun comes up it’s possible
to continue with the fun in some of the after-hours bars.
Flamenco and the other regional dances provide an alternative
for those that prefer watch to dance.
