Navarre and Aragón
Formerly Iberian medieval kingdoms, today they are independent
communities located in the Northwest of the peninsula.
Pamplona, that was in its time the capital of the Navarre
Kingdom, is famous by its patron saint festivities, celebrated
in honor of San Fermín in the first week of July.
During the celebrations are bulls confinements and verbenas
every day.
The capital of Aragón is Saragossa, that also is
famous by its patron saint celebrations -in this case
in honour to the Pilar Virgin - celebrated on October
12 of every year. It is recommended to visit the Cathedral
El Pilar, the University and the Museum of Saragossa.
In this independent community it also outstands the Ordesa
National Park -a perfect destiny for hikers, climbers
and nature lovers- and the cities of Cariñena,
Huesca, Borja, Teruel, the Episcopal city of Sergobe,
Panticosa and the ski resort and border city of Canfranc.
In the Pirenaica Mountain range there are many ski and
winter sports resorts.
