Gaudí
House-Museum
The Gaudí House-Museum is lodged in a building
constructed by Francesc Berenguer, a close collaborator
of Gaudí, in Park Güell with the collaboration
of the master.
The own Gaudí lived there until few months before
its death. From this house, he travelled every day on
foot to the Sagrada Familia, until 1926 when he settled
definitively in the temple. In the museum are interesting
furniture pieces designed by Gaudí for the Calvet
and Batlló houses, as well as for the Güell
Palace. It also exhibits documents, planes, scale models,
designs and diverse work of collaborators of the architect
like Josep M. Jujol, Jaume Busquets, Aleix Clapés
or Carles Mani. Some peculiar objects are the only bust
of Gaudí made in life by his friend the sculptor
Matamala, his mortuary mask or his bed.
